Médiévales du Grand Staobin

In Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier, a small Character Town in the east of Ille-et-Vilaine, every two years, on the first weekend of July, the surroundings of the castle and the town center come alive in a medieval atmosphere for two days of festivities (medieval market with merchants and artisans, costume parades, medieval camp of the Ost de la Giraudais, medieval jokes and dances, musical performances, …). As a highlight, several performances of the ‘destruction of the Castle of Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier’ (which took place in May 1489) will give you a preview of the historical spectacle for the following summer. On the occasion of the Grand Staobin medieval event, the medieval dance group Saltare, created within the 1488 Association, performs in front of the audience.
