Festoyes de Chevré
L’Ost de la Giraudais takes part in the ‘Festoyes de Chevré’ in the town of La Bouëxière (Ille-et-Vilaine), a site historically located within the Barony of Vitré.
During this event, many encampments spanning 1,000 years of medieval history are present.
Our troupe is set up in a late 15th-century camp, at the dawn of the Renaissance, to present:
- Cooking
- Hygiene
- Herbal medicine
- Diseases
- Games
- International trade
- Military equipment
- Mercenaries
- Medieval fencing (demonstration)
These numerous workshops and the equipment provided are created and developed by passionate volunteers who continue the medieval adventure of the 1488 Association. Prior to the camps, extensive research allows us to get as close as possible to historical accuracy.
