A Thousand and One Ways to Experience and Share the World of the Middle Ages
Following the first edition of the show, some members of Association 1488 wished to go beyond the magic of the performance. In May 2021, the Ost de la Giraudais was born out of this desire to evoke the late 15th-century Brittany.
Now enriched by its experience, the Ost de la Giraudais regularly takes part in medieval-themed festivities and events. Dressed in period costumes and backed by each member’s historical research, we bring to life the daily existence of various social classes from the late Middle Ages.
Our encampment, complete with tents and fire tables, offers full immersion in the daily life of our ancestors. You’ll discover medieval cooking, combat demonstrations, civilian and military life, as well as presentations of various traditional crafts. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy lively medieval farces and dances.
Our medieval company, L’Ost de la Giraudais, along with its various demonstration and hands-on workshops for both adults and children, can also perform outside our 1488 association events. We offer services for private or public events (corporate functions, weddings, festivals, etc.), notably through our medieval dance troupe Saltare and our theatrical comedy troupe La Compagnie Railleurs et Drôlesses.
